Nicola Lebon

Nicola Lebon is a ceramic artist and painter living and working in Margate, Kent. Lebon favours working with coloured clays as this allows much of her work to be unglazed, leaving a velvety matt finish.

Inspired by all things mythological and artefacts from the ancient world, Lebon creates creatures and spirts from her imagination. Inspired by "Aokigahara" a forest in Japan,  Lebon’s  2019 works were of tree spirits.  Latest works are of creatures from the Amazon river and rainforest.

Self-taught Lebon has been exhibiting with her paintings in London and the South East for the last twenty years. She has exhibited in venues including The Floating Gallery - Westbourne Park Grove, The Barley Mow Centre - Chiswick, The Eureka Group show, The Alternative Art market-Spitalfields, Quantum Contemporary Art at the Affordable Art Fair and ACR Gallery-Suffolk. Regularly exhibiting in Whitstable and Margate since moving to the kent coast in 2008.

In 2017 Nicola Started her journey into Ceramics, a media she hadn't explored before. with an open mind and a wonderful tutor (Barbara Collier) the adult education course started a path to a different type of creativity and possibilities.
